第一個故事，關於人生裏的偶然。他沒有完成大學課程，不唸主修科，卻花時間學書法，這偶然的經歷，令日後的電腦都有了選擇字體及字距的功能。
第二個故事，關於愛與失去。他一手創辦蘋果電腦，卻被蘋果電腦「炒魷魚」，他說了當時複雜的心路歷程。
第三個故事，關於死亡。jobs後來終於重返蘋果，卻驗出胰腺癌，幸運地治癒。他說，人生苦短，不可浪費生命活在別人的陰影下。
(Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else 's life. Don't be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other pe ople's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice, heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.)
如果這是活著的最後一天，你會做甚麼? 他說，每一天都要「求知若渴，虛心若愚」(stay hungry, stay foolish) 。
